Leg and Facial Veins
Leg and facial talangiectasia are treated by our laser which creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of targeted therapeutic heat. Candela’s patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology protects the upper layers of your skin with a cooling burst of cryogen. Together, the long-pulse laser and DCD cooling offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.
The effects of laser treatments are cumulative producing progressively more dramatic results with each treatment. Small facial veins, which are easy to target, are often completely eliminated by only 1-2 treatments. Though more complicated to target, broken capillaries, rosacea and leg spider veins are also significantly improved by the first treatment and should be dramatically reduced or completely eliminated with 2-3 follow up treatments.
Skin Tightening

Dr. Mark Taylor, a dermatologist at the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, conducted a new clinical study comparing skin tightening results of the GentleYAG versus a commonly used radiofrequency device. The study found the GentleYAG to be more effective than the radiofrequency device. Additionally, GentleYAG treatments proved to be faster, less painful and more economical for the patient and practitioner. The results of Dr. Taylor's study were presented at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) 25th Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.

Red and Brown Spots
Each laser is engineered to emit a single specific frequency of light that is absorbed by a specific pigment that naturally occurs in the targeted tissue. This remarkable process is called “selective thermolysis” which enables our laser specialist to deliver exactly the right amount of energy exactly where it is needed, leaving all the surrounding tissue unaffected.
In pigmented skin lesions, the targeted pigment is melanin (makes skin spots brown), which absorbs the laser’s energy causing it to break up and disintegrate over the course of a few days. In some cases, the targeted melanin actually turns into something like a scab, which simply flakes or falls off in 1-3 weeks.
In vascular skin lesions the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in hemoglobin (makes blood red), which instantly collapses and destroys the unwanted spot or vein. Over the course of a few weeks, your body simply dissolves and removes any remaining fragments of the destroyed spots or veins.
